This major shift in the way PaAtving does business will have a profound difference
in day to day operations, spreading responsibilities to different departments
and allowing Trx to concentrate more on the technology side of PaAtving.
The new departments and their chairs are as follows.
Membership Committee
Fund raising Committee
Merchandise Committee
Business Committee
Scholarship Committee
ATV Safety/Education Committee
Racing Committee
Events Committee
Forums Committee (existing)
Government relations Committee
Clubs Committee
This major shift in the way business is done will provide more resources for
a much larger future expansion of the PaAtving membership family. We are now
operating like a true organization that can handle much larger loads of information
dissemination.
PaAtving started in February of 2001, as a meeting place for all the ATVers
in the state of Pennsylvania, and has since grown to be the largest dissemination
of ATV information in the state, receiving move visits per month than all other
state ATV clubs combined. Our public membership now approaching 6000 users
required this transformation to better serve our membership.
This new
structure will enhance the building of the PaAtving brand name, and promote
the recent addition of “Club PaAtving”. Club PaAtving
is a $15 annual membership in PaAtving that is providing and will provide
much
more benefits for the states riders. This paid membership will help raise
funds that are directly re-invested into the PaAtving media Monster, for
multiple
different member benefits.
PaAtving is second only to the DCNR in search engine listings, and for a couple
days last week ascended to first place in ranking before teetering back to
second place, meaning we are very close to taking first place long term.
PaAtving
will soon invest as much as $5000 for 2005 season along with 1000’s
of volunteer hours in site and Club PaAtving enhancements to better serve
its membership and all the ATVers of the state of Pennsylvania. Technology
being
developed will make PaAtving an even bigger force to be dealt with in the
way things get done in Pennsylvania, while making the new board positions as
easy
as possible to manage while executing their duties to the membership.
In closing,
if you feel that you have benefited from PaAtving and care to join “Club PaAtving” to
help us extend our reach and develop new features, the board and I thank
you for your support in filling out the
application

Now on to the meeting minutes from March 1st
Jill Moyher, who hosted the web and audio conference call, opened the meeting.
A special thanks goes out to Intercall, Jill Lionetti for providing the services
free of charge.
Steve Harkins, CEO of paatving spoke briefly welcoming everyone to our first
board meeting and indicating that we would allow each Committee to present
their desires and needs for 2005. While also thanking the board for their interest
and help in making PaAtving a much larger organization.
Membership Committee;
AVR ensured security with current membership lists. He is working on building
the database of members and should be completed shortly. He will be posting
a Paatving Greeting Letter for everyone to read, comment and approve for
future memberships. He is developing two ids for members, one would be
a “luggage” type
tag for rides, etc, and with screen name and another would be a bar coded
ID card for discounts and membership events.
Fundraising
Committee;
Joe is working on planning as many rides as possible throughout the 2005 season
with many queries going into play
Merchandise Committee;
Tom and Jan have been investigating different types of Paatving Merchandise;
Thoughts were t-shirts, sweatshirts, business cards, license plates and
stickers. Also on the agenda and approved was the donation of two Paatving
banners
for use at Paatving events (vote 10yes -0no). These are to be donated
by TenGraphix, and they will be the only sponsor listed on the banners.
Any future banners with additional sponsors would need to be negotiated
for pricing.
T-shirt issue was raised with color of Paatving logo; this will be revisited
for actual costs and placed up for approval. The purchase of small flags
for bikes at parade was nixed because of pricing. (Vote 0 yes, 8 no) However,
if a lower cost could be found, capped at $75, we would proceed with buying
miniature flags. Tom and Jan would accept ideas for shirt orders.
Business Committee;
Jill is planning many more sponsorship opportunities, and is putting together
media kits for sponsors. She also is investigating a sales team for state
wide duties.
Scholarship Committee;
Current committee members are Lat, Bucket and Todd. My plan for this
year is to have 4 individual awards and a grand prize picked from
them. The individual
awards would be for:
1. Post secondary
2. High school 10-12
3. Middle school 7-9
4. Grade school K-6
ATV safety/training Committee;
Steve indicated he would provide information on local safety instructors
across the state as well as develop some stories in regards to safety.
He also indicated
there will be an area with state political contacts on the site.
Racing Committee;
Instigator will be listing races and also pictures and stories from races.
Steve indicated that you can enter races as Paatving Press credentials to
get on the track.
Events Committee;
Rimerman is working with the developer to renew the 2005 events page; changes
are being made to the back end of the system to enhance maintenance and updating
of the system, changes to come soon.
Forums Committee;
Bylaws are being developed to form a more equal understanding of responsibilities
and recording of such actions so all are on the same page. Upgrade will provide
better user management through a tiered structure.
Government relations;
Fred is working on Bills in congress, reviewing HB 80 and HB 979. He also
wanted to develop a way to get people more involved. He indicated future ‘form
letters’ and list of congressman’s email and or mailing addresses.
Also discussed was endorsing candidates publicly that support ATV use.
Clubs
Committee;
250R indicated poor response and bad information with current club listing
will continue working on it and reaching out with contact information that
he finds on the web.
