This
ride is a great event for families and ATV riders who prefer a less
difficult environment. The 50 mile system is mostly one-way travel,
consisting of dirt roads and ATV trials throughout the Allegheny National
Forest. The beautiful scenery of the Allegheny National Forest surrounds
you as you make your way through the trail system. Children are allowed
to participate, but must be at least 10 years of age to be an operator.

Also,
an ATV Safety Certificate is required for riders between 10 and 15
years of age. While not a race, family recreation blends right in
at the Tour de Forest. |

Each
year, almost 2000 riders arrive in Marienville and unload their ATV's
while having the uncommon privilege of legally riding through town.
Local gas stations and convenience stores are filled to capacity with
ATV's and wide eyed operators who navigate the main streets. The event
starts in the heart of Marienville, travels throughout the forest
and returns back to town to complete the loop. |

| This
year's spring event was held on May 18th and 19th. The Fall event
will take place on October 5th and 6th, 2002. The trails are open
for the second day ride, unlike years past which offered a mud rodeo
for Day 2. |
