Dear ATV Owner
Our records indicate that an ATV title has been
issued in your name.
New legislation requires that beginning October
23,2001, all ATVs must be registered with this department, except
those used solely for farming or business. Their is no longer
an exception for ATV used solely on your own land. The type
of registration required for ATVs that are used solely on land
leased or owned by the owner or operator of the ATV is called
"limited" registration. Limited registration is free
and does not expire; however, a registration plate is issued by
this Department and must be affixed to the ATV.
Important: State Park and State Forrest
roads and trails that are open for use by "licensed motor
vehicles" are not open for use by ATVs. ATVs may be used
only on roads and trails posted specifically for "ATV Use"
Please note that also beginning October 23, 2001,
the new legislation requires liability insurance for ATVs. However,
this requirement does not apply to ATVs used solely on land leased
or owned by the owner or operator of the ATV
